Accessibility statement

JRC Generators wants every visitor, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or other assistive technology, to be able to find information and request service on this website.

This site is built and tested to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the technical standard used to measure accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and it also meets the WCAG 2.2 Level AA additions. WCAG 2.1 AA includes everything in WCAG 2.0 AA, the standard referenced by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which matters to public agencies we work with.

What we've done

• Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to main content” link
• Headings, landmarks and labels that screen readers announce correctly
• Text and buttons meet AA color contrast in light and dark modes
• Form fields have labels, required field cues and error messages that are announced
• Moving content (the brand ticker and header animation) has Pause buttons, and all animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion
• The weekly inspection log is available as an accessible web page as well as a PDF
• No videos or audio; any added later will have captions
• Pages reflow to 320 pixels wide and zoom to 200% without losing content
• Phone number available on every page so no one has to use a form

Known limitations

The live weather radar (Windy.com) and outage map (PowerOutage.us) are provided by third parties and may not be fully accessible. The same information is available as text from the National Weather Service and ComEd links on that page, or by phone.
